AdminPulse allows you to configure bank holidays flexibly to ensure that time tracking and leave policies remain properly aligned. By setting up holidays, you make sure that expected work hours and overtime calculations are accurate.
Bank holidays are days on which no work is expected by default.
💡 If you're working with multiple Own Companies in AdminPulse, holiday settings are managed separately for each one. This means you’ll need to set bank holidays individually per company.
Managing bank holidays
You have full control over bank holidays: add, edit, or remove them depending on your office’s operations. For example, you might define bridge days, mandatory closure days, or office shutdown periods.
💡 AdminPulse provides a default list of official Belgian bank holidays. You can extend, modify, or shorten this list based on your own planning.
- Go to Settings > General Settings > Hrm settings section.
Working with multiple Own Companies? First select the correct one at the top of the screen. - Click the 'Configure bank holidays' button.
A pop-up window will open showing the configured bank holidays.
The official holidays are added automatically to the list.
- To remove a holiday:
Click the bin icon next to the relevant day.
This is useful when a bank holiday is treated as a regular workday in your company. - To add a holiday:
Click +Add at the bottom of the window.
Select a date from the calendar or type it in manually.
Then click Add.
👉 Holidays are linked to a specific year. Use the dropdown in the pop-up to select the year you want to edit. Changes only apply to the selected year and are not carried over to future years automatically.
👉 If you add a bank holiday to a day on which employees have already registered hours, the system will automatically recognize those hours as overtime.
💡 You can define bank holidays in advance for future years.
Managing office closures and collective leave
For closure periods or collective leave, you have two options, depending on how your HR policy is organized:
- You treat the days as bank holidays:
➡ No work is expected on these days.
➡ Employees do not need to record vacation for these days.
➡ If you classify closure days as bank holidays, you can choose to subtract those days in advance from employees’ available vacation balance. - You do not use bank holiday settings:
➡ Employees must request vacation for those days using leave registration.
👉 Consider the approach that suits each Own Company best.
Impact of holidays on the ‘Hours registered per employee’ Report
The 'Hours registered per employee report' (HRM > Hours registered per employee) shows the expected working time per employee on a daily basis. Bank holidays are displayed in this report as days with no expected working hours.
Any hours logged on a bank holiday are automatically considered overtime.
Example:
An employee logs 4 hours on May 1 (an official bank holiday).
➡ Those 4 hours are automatically counted as overtime.
💡 There is no need to register vacation on bank holidays. As no work is expected, time entries are not required.
