With the connection between AdminPulse and DocuSign, you can have documents and letters created in AdminPulse signed digitally. This can be done by the end customer, but also by an employee of the office.
In this article, you will learn what DocuSign does, how to set up the integration with AdminPulse, how to prepare templates for digital signature and how to send a document for signature.
What is DocuSign?
DocuSign replaces paper signatures with a fully automated electronic workflow. This allows you to quickly and easily send documents for signature from AdminPulse.
AdminPulse does not charge any additional fees for this. Any document that needs to be signed can be sent via AdminPulse free of charge. You do need a subscription to DocuSign.

How does the DocuSign integration work in AdminPulse?
With the DocuSign integration in AdminPulse, you can send a signature request to the end customer or to an employee of the office.
AdminPulse sends the required data to DocuSign. DocuSign then sends a link to the signer. The signer can then digitally sign the document in the DocuSign environment.
Set up DocuSign in AdminPulse
1. Request a DocuSign account
To use the integration with DocuSign, you need a DocuSign account. You can request this account online via https://www.docusign.com/products-and-pricing.
2. Configure the integration via Admin-Connect
When your DocuSign account is ready to send documents, log in to the Admin-Connect webpage with that account. This page gives you an overview of all integrations with external connections, including DocuSign.
You can go to Admin-Connect via https://connect.adminpulse.be/ or by following the steps below.
- Go to Settings > Connected apps.
- On the Admin-Connect home page, search for the DocuSign integration.
- Click Connect. You will then be redirected to the DocuSign login page.
- Log in with your DocuSign account. You will then automatically return to the Connect configuration page.
Prepare templates for digital signature
Add signature fields to letter templates
To determine which signatures need to be added to the document, you add signature fields to the template or to the formatted Word file in AdminPulse. These fields must follow a format imposed by DocuSign.
You add a signature field as ordinary text. You do not need to choose a special field type. The field must meet the following requirements.
Example: _signer1_
- Each signature field starts and ends with an underscore (_).
- signer1 is the name of the field. You later link this name in AdminPulse to an employee or end customer, depending on who needs to sign in that place.
- 👉 Use the same name for a signature field only once. For example, use signer1, signer2, ... if there are several signers.
An example of a template that is ready for digital signature looks like this:
Set up e-mail templates for digital signature
You can create your own e-mail templates for sending the document. To do this, add an e-mail template of the type Digital signature.
When sending the signature request, select the e-mail template you want to use. DocuSign uses this template for the e-mail sent to the signer.
If no e-mail template for digital signature exists, a standard text is used.
💡 Do you have several own companies? Then you need one template per own company. When sending, select the template of the company linked to the relation.
Send a letter for signature
When you have prepared a document or letter for a relation using a template with signature fields, you can send this document to the customer for signature.
To do this, open the relation file and choose Send signature request for the desired letter in the letters section. This option is only available if the document has not yet been signed.
In the dialog box, choose an employee or end customer for each signature field found in the document.
In the case of a company, the list of relations is completed with the linked relations of the person type that are linked to this company.
The e-mail address is required. This is the e-mail address at which the person receives the invitation to sign.
When you have chosen a signer for all signature fields, you can send the document. The customer receives an invitation by e-mail to sign the document. The document remains on Pending until the status changes.
Statuses of a signature request
After sending a document for signature, the document can receive one of the following statuses:
- Signed: all signers have signed the document.
- Refused: one of the signers has refused to sign the document.
- Expired: the document can no longer be signed because the deadline has expired.
- Withdrawn: the applicant has withdrawn the signature request.
- Failed: something went wrong with the document or during the signing process.
